This New Year’s Eve, the energy will be electric as the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust debuts the Dollar Bank Battle of the Bands at Highmark First Night Pittsburgh 2026. The inaugural, crowd-powered competition will showcase rising musical talent in a high-stakes showdown on the Highmark Main Stage.
Eight semifinalists—selected this fall by the Cultural Trust—will compete online, with public voting determining the top four finalists who perform live in front of thousands. A dynamic emcee and panel of judges will help crown the ultimate champion, who will earn cash prizes, major publicity, and a spotlight performance during the midnight countdown, plus a featured set at the 2026 Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival.
Musicians aged 18 and older can apply now at TrustArts.org/FirstNightPGH through November 1, 2025.
