With the kids officially out of school, we’re lining up events in Pittsburgh from June 9-15 that both parents and kids alike will enjoy. But don’t worry, we made sure to include some adult-only activities for your own peace of mind, too. Will you lounge at a summer block party by the library? Or, will you treat yourself to an exquisite wine dinner? Either way, we’ll be embracing summer right along with you!

June 9, Westinghouse Lodge

Kick off summer vacation with a special celebration for the kiddos. The C.C. Mellor Memorial Library Summer Block Party is a free event full of community sponsors who are bringing hands-on activities. All ages are invited whether they’re a toddler or a teen or all ages in between.

June 14, Carnegie Museum of Natural History

Take the whole family out (and maybe even celebrate dad a day early!) and back in time to when dinosaurs roamed. Special activities, PaleoLab talks, expert talks, and exclusive exhibits await in the Dinosaurs in Their Time, Discovery Basecamp, and the Foster Overlook. Look forward to Dino Yoga, crafting fossil rubbings, making your own coloring pages, and in depth information about these fantastic giants.

Allentown Night Market

June 14, 800 Block of Warrington Avenue

Head out during sunset to the streets of Allentown for a night market with oddity vendors, local artisans, punk products, and so much more. Besides the shopping you can also catch some of Pittsburgh’s best food vendors, take in a circus sideshow, get a quick tattoo, and jam out to live music. This market only happens twice a year so you won’t want to miss your first opportunity!
