Back by popular demand, the Flamingo Feeding Encounter returns to the National Aviary this October. Guests step onto the Wetlands beach with an expert and hand-feed vibrant American Flamingos while enjoying a close-up look at their unique filter-feeding method.
Participants can relax in reserved seating as flamingos approach for their snack, while other Wetlands residents—such as a Hamerkop or Brown Pelican—move gracefully through the habitat.
This one-of-a-kind experience sold out quickly last year, so early booking is encouraged. Proceeds support the National Aviary’s mission to save birds and protect their habitats.
