Joe Hisaishi Conducts the Pittsburgh Symphony

Joe Hisaishi, the legendary composer behind Hayao Miyazaki’s iconic films, makes his long-awaited debut with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Best known for his sweeping and emotional scores, Hisaishi also shines in the concert hall with original works and solo albums. This program features the U.S. premiere of his piece The End of the World, offering a rare chance to experience the contrast between his beloved film music and his deeply personal compositions—all conducted by the composer himself.
