South Side Winterfest
December 6 • 3–7 PM + Santa Stroll 7–10 PM • Bedford Square, Esser Plaza & 12th Street • Free
The South Side debuts a brand-new neighborhood celebration this year with South Side Winterfest. This is a lively, all-ages festival bringing together artists, makers, musicians, and local businesses for an afternoon of holiday cheer. The event features a festive Holiday Market and live music programmed by Club Café. There are hands-on activities from South Side Kids and creative snowflake-making with Brewhouse artists. Local restaurants and food trucks will serve seasonal bites. In addition, Velum Fermentation hosts a 21+ beer garden.
At 6:30 PM, luminarias will glow around the square. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive aboard the Station 24 Fire Engine to light the neighborhood Holiday Tree in Esser Plaza. Free photos with Santa will continue throughout the evening in the Club Café Santa Lounge.
Festive outfits are welcome—and rewarded. One best-dressed attendee will win $500 in prizes from South Side shops and restaurants. After Winterfest, the celebration continues with the Santa Stroll along East Carson Street. Participating businesses offer specials, samples, and giveaways from 7–10 PM.
