Carnegie Museum of Natural History debuts the next installment of its multi-year exhibition series with The Stories We Keep: Bringing the World to Pittsburgh. Opening November 8, the immersive exhibition gives visitors a rare look into the museum’s vast collections—22 million objects strong—through hands-on activities, behind-the-scenes conservation work, and interactive displays.
Exhibition highlights include:

A visible collections lab, where guests can watch scientists care for specimens in real time.

Rarely exhibited fossils from Baron Ernest de Bayet’s famed 19th-century collection.

Stories of Indigenous guides who led museum expeditions across Ca

Archival and contemporary work from expeditions in Angola.

A deep dive into William J. Holland’s legacy in building the museum.

Activities exploring the museum’s massive invertebrate zoology collection.

A listening station for the We Are Nature podcast, The Anthropocene Archives, with new episodes launching November 7.
Public programming will also invite visitors to label specimens, meet collections caretakers, and explore why museums collect and preserve objects.
