Just as the back-to-school sales begin, and the heat feels like it’s starting to lighten up just slightly; it’s a sign that Steelers football is coming down the pike. For some, it’s just off of the turnpike as Steelers Training Camp 2026 begins.

Pittsburgh Steelers Training Camp is here, and the boys are back in Western Pennsylvania. Even with new players, and a new era behind the playsheets (welcome Coach Mike McCarthy), the black and gold returns to their summer home once more at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. From now until August 17, fans get the chance to see the squad take in their first team practices together in a much more intimate and casual setting. But, how can people attend? Where Can I Get Tickets and When Can I Attend?

The simple answer; whenever they’re in session. Tickets are free via the team website, and although practices don’t begin most days until 11 a.m., gates open to fans at 8:30 a.m. Most fans are there for the first day and the weekends, so if you’re looking for a less packed environment, the first weekdays of August may be best. Parking is also free every day at the intersection of Saint Vincent Drive and Brouwers Road.

Am I Just There to Watch Football?

Sort of. The players walk from the locker room to the playing field; where if you arrive early enough, are stubborn enough to wait, and are a little lucky, many players will high-five or sign autographs for fans along the fenced path to their destination. If you really want the chance to see TJ and company, arriving as gates open up is your best option. As you walk into the camp for the first time, everything else will be at your fingertips; including the team shop, activity zone, and food trucks. And don’t worry if you don’t make it to the team shop, the entire Steelers Training Camp 2026 collection is available online too.

There are usually enough food options for everyone, but you are able to leave the grounds and re-enter if none of the trucks tickle your fancy. Which speaking of…

What is There to Explore When Training is Over? Or, What if Mother Nature Doesn’t Want the Steelers to Practice? 

Saint Vincent has a piece of many Pittsburghers’ childhoods right next to the camp grounds in case you need a break from the football or the classic Pittsburgh weather hits the sky with rain clouds. The Fred Rogers Exhibit, a display of Fred’s life and work with special mementos, is open weekdays until 4:30 p.m. for those who fondly remember the tune of It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

Didn’t get any food at camp and still have the Steelers itch? The original Dino’s Sports Lounge is a sports-bar-style setting for those looking for a true “Stillers fan” environment. Who knows what games may be on the TV when you stop by.

Need an extra kick to stay awake before you enter the Training Camp? 512 Coffee and Ice Cream is the spot to hit. It’s also a great stop for a sweet treat to-go after the camp closes.

In case you find yourself with more time than intended, just 15 minutes west of Saint Vincent is the town of Greensburg with its fair share of coffee shops (The White Rabbit Cafe is a must-stop) and The Westmoreland Museum of American Art (which currently has a baseball exhibit, Play Ball! The Art of George Sosnak). It’s a great back-up plan in case the weather ends up dreadful or the crowds just become too much.

Other Steelers Training Camp Tips

Bring your own lawn chair, and some real cash. Fan seating is amongst the grass bowl around the fields, so lawn chairs or a blanket to lay down would be in your best interest.
