March 26-30, Pittsburgh Playhouse

Shakespeare’s Ophelia, reborn in the Appalachian Mountains, finds herself in a world both familiar and utterly transformed.  Dreaming of Pop-Tarts and other sweet escapes, she navigates a neo-Elizabethan setting where Gertrude runs a brothel and Hamlet is a Rude Boy.  In this mirrored world of fragmented language and shifting identities, Ophelia carves a new path, breaking free from her tragic fate.
