As that cool autumn crisp air arrives, the craving to leave our homes and experience the fall season takes over. Thankfully, Pittsburgh is kicking up the city’s events schedule from the week of October 6-12. For those who feel like tapping into their creative side, live performances await. Though there are days of learning ahead too for history and nature buffs. Even if none of this tickles your fancy, we’re sure a beer in the park could make up for it. It’s all coming up this next week in the Steel City.

Six at the Benedum
October 7-12, Benedum Center
A history lesson is a lot more fun with bedazzled outfits and pop hits. You’ll walk out of the Broadway smash hit Six with a much deeper knowledge of Henry VIII’s wives, and some banging tunes stuck in your head. Check out these Queens as they tell you their stories of how their marriage with this historical figure went. It’s empowering, educational, and above all fun as you get to know the real story!

A Garden Conversation
October 9, Pittsburgh Botanic Garden
Through presentations and panel discussions, guests will examine the four interpretive themes that inform all of the work Pittsburgh Botanic Garden does: Brady Crytzer covering History of the Land, Matt Sarver on Conservation & Restoration, Dr. Mark Miller discussing Botany & Horticulture, and Doug Jones speaking about how Nature Nurtures. Plus, enjoy complimentary food and drinks before the presentations begin.

Fort Ligonier Days 2025
October 10-12, Fort Ligonier
For three days, the Revolutionary War era is back. The picturesque Laurel Highlands go back in time for a weekend every fall for this local favorite. Learn the local history while sipping on local spirits, or, for the athletes out there, participate in the yearly 5K. No matter what you decide to do, you won’t want to miss the battle reenactments and historical demonstrations.

Pour at the Park
October 11, North Park Lodge
Pour at the Park returns to offer a lively evening of tastings, food, and entertainment. Presented by Peoples Gas, the event features beer, wine, spirits, and nonalcoholic beverages alongside local food trucks. Listen to live music from the Alter Egos as you take the kids to discovery activities hosted by Coach Dave of CDG Sports. Guests can also enjoy a raffle and join in a public tree planting earlier in the day at 1 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Allegheny County Parks Foundation’s work to maintain and enhance all nine county parks.
