Adult Activities for a Rainy Day in Pittsburgh

Let’s face it, we get a lot of rain in Pittsburgh. In fact, cloudy days make up about two-thirds of the year. But just because exploring the outdoors is less than ideal, you don’t have to spend the day at home. Call up a group of friends or that special somebody and plan a rainy day adventure full of fun adult activities. You can challenge each other in putt putt, create your own work of art, or even take in a comedy improv show. The possibilities within Pittsburgh are endless but here are a few to turn a dreary day off in Pittsburgh into an exciting one.

Painting with a Twist

Painting with a Twist is a sip and paint experience at its finest. Choose from themed nights like date nights, paint your pet nights, trivia night, or girls night out. Some painting examples include flower scenes, sunsets and moons, cartoon animals, and much more.

Barcadia

Become a little kid again at the arcade at Barcadia which features a full service bar. Grab a cocktail, some quarters, and join your group of friends in various video game competitions. Play classic games like Donkey Kong and PacMan, or take on a new VR game like the Star Wars Battle Pod.

Mix Candle Co

Have you always wanted to make your own candle? At Mix Candle Co you can choose your own scent combination from over 120 fragranced oils to make your own sweet-smelling sensation. You can even pick out the style of the candle container so that your creation is completely customized.

Steel City Improv Theater

Get ready to laugh all night long at the Steel City Improv Theater. If you’re looking to get a little taste before attending a paid show, you can stop in on a Thursday for a free show from the group. Then check out their other shows featuring plenty of audience participation.

The Puttery

Putt putt isn’t just for kids anymore. The Puttery features a full-service bar alongside three themed courses. Make your way through the twisty-turny library, cozy up in the winter lodge, and steer in the right direction through the garage.

Contemporary Craft

This gallery hosts a number of special exhibits featuring a wide range of handmade mediums. Currently you can see Brie Ruais’ ONENESS, where she uses her body weight in clay to make her works. Plus, Contemporary Craft also holds workshops where you can make your own art.
