Frog Walk at Powdermill Nature Reserve

Check out hopping, big eyed creatures amongst the water of the Powdermill Nature Reserve. Aaron Capouellez, president of the nonprofit Woods and Forest Inc., will take guests on a walk through sections normally closed off to the public. Who knows what little creatures you may see!
The Secret Garden

Based on the children’s novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, this play from the Heritage Players brings the story of 11-year-old orphan Mary Lennox to the stage. Watch as she discovers the wonders of her uncle’s magic garden, her one safe space, and possibly the key to her renewal.

Families can get out and get active for free in Pittsburgh’s green landscape at Point State Park. Look forward to archery, biking, boating, fishing, squirrel hunting, and so much more. Just bring yourself and a positive attitude as experts guide you through various activities.
2024 Moraine State Park Regatta
Moraine State Park, August 3-4
Grab the kids, don your best sun hat, and spend the day spotting gorgeous boats on the lake. Besides the boat day fun, you can also join in on fishing, paddle boats, kayaking, yoga, volleyball, archery, live entertainment, and a vendor’s market to explore. Needless to say, you’ll have the whole day packed with adventure all for free.
