Monterey Pub

1227 Monterey Street
Walking Distance from the Game: 20 minutes

This is one of those places you almost don’t want to tell other people about because it’s so good. But because TABLE cares about your wellbeing and doesn’t want you stuck with the generic, here you go. It’s one of the city’s best dive bars, with killer bar bites for a post-game meal if you didn’t want to splurge on stadium food. Plus, it has great outdoor seating and can feel cozy and lowkey while still being lively.

Modern Café

862 Western Avenue
Walking Distance: 10 minutes

A simple, classic bar experience serving shots and beer on the North Shore since 1933. It was one of the first bars in Pittsburgh after the city lifted Prohibition bans on booze, and it’s only on its third owner since then. Drink there and be grateful that we no longer live in the 1920s! Plus, it’s a woman-owned business, another thing that would have unusual in the Prohibition era.

Tequila Cowboy

380 North Shore Drive
Walking Distance: 6 minutes

Ok, we know. It’s Tequila Cowboy. The same Tequila Cowboy with the sticky floors and the rowdy Stage AE overflow crowds dancing on tables, where one person claimed they once “accidentally rode a mechanical bull.”  (How does that even happen?) But why veer from a classic? If you’re going out near the stadium, there is no better North Shore haunt. Just know what you’re getting into.

Burgatory

342 North Shore Drive
Walking Distance from the Game: 7 minutes

If you’re going to go anywhere on North Shore Drive and actually have a fun after-game experience where no one is at risk of getting turned away by a bouncer, consider Burgatory. Hear us out. The boozy shakes are basically unbeatable as a decadent celebratory drink if the Steelers won. Or as a consolation to eat your feelings if they lost. Either way, Burgatory has good food, good drinks, and the space is big enough that you and your friends can all get a seat.

Jason Aldean’s Kitchen and Bar

393 North Shore Drive
Walking Distance: 6 minutes

This well known country star has his own bar in Pittsburgh and if you’re a fan then it’s not to be missed. Transport into a Nashville style bar right in Pittsburgh featuring cheaper brews and specialty cocktails. It’s literally right around the corner from Acrisure Stadium so in case you’ve had one too many at the game, you can still make it to this bar! Well… maybe.

Bar Louie

330 North Shore Drive Building 1B
Walking Distance: 7 minutes

Bar Louie is that sweet middle between an upscale bar and your every day restaurant bar. It’s just nice enough that you get away from the college kids but you still have the game day spirit all around you. Stop in for their Bar Bites and Beer Bucket specials. Or, if the game left you feeling hangry, try their 3-Course Combo that includes a coice of starter, main course, and cinnamon donut holes for dessert.

Tom’s Watch Bar

261 North Shore Drive Suite 3
Walking Distance: 9 minutes

One of the most well known sports bars in the city, Tom’s Watch Bar features over 80 big screen games so you can continue your football Sunday long after the Steelers are done playing. They also carry over 50 beers on tap as well as over 50 cocktails on their menu. Even if you want to watch soccer, baseball, hockey, or college football, you’ll find it on the jumbo screens.

McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon

211 North Shore Drive
Walking Distance: 10 minutes

A bit closer to PNC Park, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, McFadden’s is the place to party. Not to mention, it’s the one place in the city where women are encouraged to dance on the bar when the sun goes down. Their huge center bar makes sure you can get service from every angle plus they have an outside patio and fireplace in case you need a break from the action.

Shore Thing

2 Federal Street
Walking Distance: 16 minutes

A new addition to the North Shore, Shore Thing sets you right on the Allegheny River on a floating barge. Lay in their hammock seats that lean you over the water or take to a table for card games with friends. Their menu is not the largest however they carry a variety of bar bites like handheld sandwiches, various draft beers, and a cocktail menu too. What better way is there to wind down than a drink by the Three Rivers?

North Shore Tavern

120 Federal Street
Walking Distance: 14 minutes

While North Shore Tavern is perfect for stopping by during the Pirates’ season, you can still make the walk for Steelers season too. Their kitchen does not close until 10 p.m. and they are open till midnight every night regardless. Share appetizers like nachos and wings or try their famous Steak on a Stone. It’s tender, juicy, and the stone keeps the steak warm as you eat, allowing for the best experience.
