Giving Guide 2023: The Forbes Funds

When was the last time you took on a wicked problem by yourself? Are you convinced your solution was the best way forward? At The Forbes Funds, we believe that no one organization can single-handedly solve every challenge and no one sector can single-handedly build a region. We rapid prototype, begin with the end in mind, and invite partners to develop a unique and inclusive path to success with us.

The Forbes Funds connects individuals and organizations dedicated to meaningful and transformative philanthropic efforts to the resources and capital they need for success. In our eyes, success is a dedication beyond the transactional, using our community’s gifts, skills, and talents to impact the common good. We support causes that are closely aligned with our own mission, emphasizing close collaboration and community engagement.

To us, collective genius & strategic relationships are the means for collective impact in the greater Pittsburgh area & beyond.

Where do you fit in? We invite you to find out. Join us at the 2023 GPNP Summit, Transformative Leadership, Partnership, Co-creation, and Innovation. Hear from local, national, and global experts in the nonprofit, philanthropic, business, and government sectors who are committed to developing a unique and inclusive path to success for our region.

“The GPNP Summit serves as a catalyst for driving social change in the region,” noted Fred Brown, President and CEO of The Forbes Funds. “As we think about the future of this work, we must also acknowledge the incredible contributions to the sector by the nonprofit leaders in our region.”

The SWPA nonprofit sector is vast, generating billions of dollars in total economic output annually. Since 2005, the GPNP Summit has convened thousands of attendees during biennial events.

The 2023 GPNP Summit will provide space for learning about and applying the strategies and practices of collaboration to better serve our community across Southwest Pennsylvania. Through over 70 plenaries and sessions featuring nine highlighted speakers including Fred Blackwell, Gisele Fetterman, and Audrey Russo, we will explore what it takes to create an equitable region with a thriving workforce. We will also be honoring some of our region’s nonprofits through an awards ceremony. With the support of visionary philanthropist, John Gismondi, we will also provide a $5,000 award to five winners to invest in their mission work.

You don’t want to miss this. This event will shape GPNP engagements on an ongoing basis including the policy agenda, convening calendar, and capacity-building resources for the next 24 months.

The Forbes Funds seeks to be a catalyst for strategic collaboration on a broader and deeper level and GPNP invites you to the front door of our ecosystem. Build your capacity. Make strategic connections. Join us and let us join you, capacity building begins at forbesfunds.org
