This summer, barebones productions presents The Shark Is Broken—a sharp, funny play about the chaos behind the making of Jaws. The show opens May 30 and runs through June 15 at the barebones Black Box Theater in Braddock.
It’s 1974. The shark keeps breaking. The actors are stuck on a boat. Tensions rise as filming delays drag on. In this behind-the-scenes comedy, we meet the real men behind the movie legends: Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, and Roy Scheider. They argue, bond, and wait—for the shark to work.
Directed by Steve Parys, a film and TV veteran, this show is perfect for movie fans, comedy lovers, and anyone who enjoys stories about how the magic (and madness) of movies gets made.
