Experience the Pittsburgh premiere of Benjamin Britten’s profound and moving Curlew River, presented in the historic setting of Calvary Episcopal Church. Adapted from a Japanese Noh play, this unique “parable for church performance” tells the haunting story of a woman searching for her lost son.
Following medieval and Japanese traditions, all roles are performed by men. Pittsburgh Opera will mount a new production of this intimate and stylized masterpiece.
