About the Event:

Pittsburgh Opera’s annual fashion show benefit returns with a milestone: this will be the final fashion show curated by Richard Parsakian, owner of Eons Fashion Antique in Shadyside, after 45 years of event work.

Titled “It’s About Time,” Parsakian calls this evening “Fashion Theatre.” It blends movement with dancers, actors, and iconic leaders of Pittsburgh’s arts community. The show showcases vintage couture spanning 1890 through the 1990s, with each piece personally chosen by Parsakian.

Pittsburgh Opera’s award-winning Resident Artists will perform and walk the runway.

About Richard Parsakian:

Richard has been a pillar of Pittsburgh’s fashion scene for decades. His store Eons will celebrate 40 years in July. A past curator of the Ecolution sustainability fashion gala, he has created events for the Andy Warhol Museum and Metropol nightclubs. He was the 2024 Grand Marshal of Pittsburgh Pride and honored in 2023 as LGBTQIA+ Leader of the Year. In 2016, he made his Pittsburgh Opera debut as costume designer for *27*.

“This show will be the culmination of my dream to bring all art forms and friends together in one interactive evening,” says Parsakian. “Each piece has personal meaning. Expect surprises. It’s going to be an epic evening. #ArtEqualsTruth”
