About the Workshop:
Learn the ancient art of Joomchi—the process of laminating sheets of mulberry paper into a new, durable sheet. This finished paper can stand alone or become part of collage, mixed media, or three‑dimensional work.
Students will leave with a completed piece.
All materials are provided.
About the Instructor:
Rae Gold holds a BFA from Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University). She created one‑of‑a‑kind wearables for 30 years, showing at the ACC Baltimore Craft Show, Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, Smithsonian Craft Show, and Washington Craft Show.
For the last ten years, she has created three‑dimensional wet felted sculptures, two‑ and three‑dimensional Joomchi work, and natural basketry forms.
