For the first time this year, the Frick will be hosting both free and paid family-friendly activities during Pittsburgh Public Schools’ spring break at the end of March and beginning of April.
Bird Scavenger Hunt
March 31-April 5, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Birds are flocking to the Frick! Look up, down, and all around for birds wearing their best spring break outfits on this free scavenger hunt.
Grab a Scavenger Hunt Sheet in the Grable Visitor Center. Once visitors have found each bird, they can return their completed sheet to a staff member at the front desk in the Visitor Center to claim their prize. Free and open to all.
Drop-in artmaking
March 31, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Make a mixed-media sculpture of your favorite—or not so favorite—bug! Free and open to all.

April 3, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Create your own traditional Pittsburgh everything-between-the-bread sandwich using paper and your imagination. Free and open to all.
Youth Art Workshop: Bird Sculptures
April 2, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
In this workshop, participants will design their own bird! Students will learn basic hand-building techniques and ways to incorporate a variety of mixed-media materials from teaching artist Liz Wells. Everyone will leave with their own bird and habitat, ready for display. This workshop is designed for students in grades 4-6. $40 members, $45 non-members.
