Brunch in Lawrenceville with Lawrence Hall’s New Menu

There’s a hopping new spot in Lawrenceville for brunch, which happens to be inside a soaring, repurposed 1890s warehouse. Every Saturday and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Lawrence Hall hosts brunch menus from La Palapa and Cuddy’s Soul Food that include stuffed French toast, chicken and waffles, huevos rancheros, chilaquiles and more.

La Palapa’s Huevos Pastor are also popular. They combine scrambled eggs, perfectly marinated pork with achiote and pineapple, corn tortillas, refried beans, and grilled potatoes on the side. This style of mix and match brunch feels low-key and free-flowing; guests from the same party can order from different vendors if they choose, and those who prefer not to order by QR code (located on each table) simply can head to the kitchen of their choice.

During brunch hours the venue’s buzzing bar, Dear James, inspired by neighborhood namesake Captain James Lawrence, showcases a build-your-own mimosa bar. We can personally vouch for cocktails like the Bloody Maria. Some weekends, look out for enticing additions to the brunch scene like floral truck Poppin’ Daisies setting up out front to sell vibrant blooms and specialty bouquets. While supplies last, of course!

Sweet-and-Savory Brunch

When asked what excites her most about this new service, co-owner Phoebe Fraser says, “Who doesn’t love brunch? We’ve been planning it for a while. Now, we’re ready to roll it out!” They’re thrilled to be able to bring these new menus to the neighborhood.

“On a personal note,” Fraser adds, “[Co-owner] Brett [Minarik] and I are a classic sweet-and-savory combination. I love the stuffed French toast from Cuddy’s Soul Food, and Brett is all about La Palapa’s breakfast burrito. And our son loves a little bit of everything! It’s fun to be able to have a variety of cuisines to choose from and share it all together. And I think the mimosa bar speaks for itself!”
