Now that the Fourth of July is over, let yourself slow down with these events in Pittsburgh from July 6-12. Walk through a gallery of art, bring the family to a free festival, or relax with a whiskey walk.
Pittsburgh Events Happening July 6-12

Digital Community Collection Gallery Exhibit
July 9, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh CLP-Main
The melting pot landscape of Pittsburgh brings together people from all different walks of life, creating a rich culture with many influences. The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh examines the history of living in the city with a display of items donated from Pittsburgh residents. Join the opening reception in the Graphic Novels Room to hear all about the project and get a closer look at what makes our community so unique.

Cranberry Summer Nights
July 9-11, Cranberry Community Park
For three nights, Cranberry Foundation and UPMC Passavant welcome families and friends to the park for a free night out. Sit back on the grass to enjoy live music, a community car cruise, specialty performers, games, rides, vendors, visits from princesses, superheroes, and mascots, and even a fireworks display to end the week.

Whiskey & Spirits Walk
July 10, Starts at Meeting House
Before attending the Whiskey Rebellion Festival over the weekend, the Bradford House Historical Association takes you to local businesses throughout the area where you’ll sample libations from a number of distillers. You can even buy bottles along your way and a runner will have them ready for you at the main table when the walk is over. Plus you’ll get a pretzel snack bag, bottle of water, and complimentary shot glass.

Pittsburgh Black Arts Gala
July 11, 319 E 8th Ave
Support the Black artists of Pittsburgh at a gala that celebrates ingenuity and creativity. Designers, performers, and artists come together to display a collection of paintings, clothing, performances, and inspiring art. Get in on all the action and even take pieces home that are for sale. Plus, look forward to live music, free wine, and connection with your local community.

Afterimages: A Phantasmagoria
July 11, Mattress Factory
Film and poetry can tell us a lot about history, people’s lives, and the society around us. The Mattress Factory brings the two together in a multimedia fashion featuring readings by Cate Peebles, showings of eerie shorts on 16 mm film, as well as the current exhibit on display from Rebecca Shapass, tempus fugit.
