Watch the Big Game at These Pittsburgh Sports Bars

Sometimes you just need to watch the game with friends and possibly make some new ones at a sports bar in the city. And unwind. Square Café founder Sheree Goldstein is opening a new sports bar focused on women’s sports. She shares her sports bar faves all around Pittsburgh.

Title 9

5997 Centre Avenue, East Liberty

I am so proud and excited to open the city’s first women’s sports watch bar. The overwhelmingly positive vibes for our pre-open pop-ups have been so uplifting! We welcome all people and all ages, and we’ve seen everything from friends enjoying games and little kids asking me to put their soccer team picture on the wall. Our local food and beverage partnerships have been showcased, too, and will continue to expand once we have our official grand opening. There are also plenty of vegan and veg bar food options, too, which have been super popular.

Two Frays Brewery

Technically not a sports bar, Two Frays has my favorite n/a beer and they’re local. I have been in recovery since 1989 and I’m always on the lookout for the best n/a options for the sober and sober curious crowd (and for myself!). My current favorite is the Fluffy Beast Non-Alcoholic Hazy IPA. We also carry their beer and n/a beers at Title 9.

Piper’s Pub

Piper’s is a Pittsburgh legend, and for good reason. I love the atmosphere here during the World Cup and other big international games. As much as I love our black and gold home teams, it’s awesome to see another side of Pittsburgh’s sports fandom. I think people would be surprised to know they also have a ton of great vegan and vegetarian options. I recommend the Roasted Brussels & Chickpeas washed down with a Johnny Ryan Orange.

Shorty’s Pins and Pints

353 North Shor Drive, North Side

Shorty’s is so cool as a sports and activity destination. You can catch a game or play a game or just hang outside at a fire pit with friends. It’s another “fun for all ages” spot, which I appreciate since my family is continuing to grow. The food is fantastic, and they have tasty mocktail options. I have been sipping on their delicious Fauxijito lately.

Urban Tap

Shadyside and South Side

The Shadyside location is right up the street from Title 9. It’s a super lively spot to watch a game while enjoying some great eats. They also have surprising espresso and tea offerings. The Rosemary Matcha Tonic is refreshing and soothing to keep you going during your team’s most stressful plays.
