Wicked Cocktails and Desserts at Pittsburgh Restaurants

The long-anticipated Wicked, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, is out in theaters this week.A movie like this with such a clear aesthetic—Glinda’s glittering pink gowns and Elphaba’s trademark green skin—gives a lot of opportunity to be creative with drinks. Pittsburgh bars stepped up to the challenge with dazzling beverages sure to be as popular as the movie itself and its soundtrack. Go out with a friend and sip to find out if you’re a good witch or a bad witch.

The Good Witch at Ritual House

Ritual House is offering the “Good Witch,” with Coconut Rum, Strawberry, Lychee, White Cranberry, Lemon, and Prosecco. The addition of Prosecco shows Glinda’s bubbly spirit. The pink color is a nod to her style, complete with a sparkling crown.

The Green Witch at Ritual House

Since Elphaba isn’t really bad, they’re calling their companion cocktail Green Witch. This delightfully verdant drink has vodka, sour apple liqueur, Midori, lemon, and lime on the rim—plus a broomstick prop for an extra touch of character.

Glinda’s Glamour at Spirits & Tales

This is a dazzling, sweet-tart cocktail as effervescent as the Good Witch herself from the bar team at Spirits & Tales at the Oaklander. Glinda’s Glamour is a highly Instagrammable drink with a cotton candy bubble on top that floats away into pink mist, an homage to Glinda’s ability to travel by bubble.

Elphaba’s Essence at Spirits & Tales

Indulge in a bold and earthy elixir with a dark, complex flair, just like the oh-so-memorable green-hued Elpahaba, made of Bourbon, honey allspice syrup, blackberry liqueur, lime juice, and triple sec. How cute is that little blackberry hat? (You also get to keep the witch’s hat if you order this cocktail).

Defying Gravity: TABLE’s Wicked Cocktail

We added our own Wicked cocktail to show Elphaba’s determination and grit, especially in her climactic ballad of “Defying Gravity.” Our cocktail has the strength and allure of green absinthe alongside the smoothness of gin with a dash of mint.
