There’s nothing quite live attending a concert, especially when it’s happening in one of the really beautiful venues of Pittsburgh. In case you’re looking for a reason to get out and sing along for pure therapy, our May 2025 concert lineup covers some of the top shows of the month. Whether you’re a fan of rock, pop, country, hip-hop, or classical, there’s a stage and lights waiting out there for you. Not to mention, this month brings some of the biggest names in the music industry to right here in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Magnolia Park

Mr. Smalls Theatre, May 2

Celebrating their new album Vamp which releases April 11, Magnolia Park takes the stage at Mr. Smalls in Millvale. This pop-punk/rock band is all about passionate, energetic live performances. Don’t miss your chance to see them with openers Hot Milk, Savage Hands, and South Arcade.

Heinz Hall, May 3

Are you a huge fan of Star Wars? Hear all your favorite tunes from each and every film like A New Hope and Rogue One performed by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Guests are encouraged to come in costume to really set the atmosphere.

Micky Dolenz of The Monkees

City Winery Pittsburgh, May 4

Cheer up, sleepy Jean! Micky Dolenz of The Monkees has a night of songs and stories ready for you at City Winery in the Strip District. Hear all about his incredible career while hearing your favorite hits and sipping wine. 

AC/DC

Acrisure Stadium, May 8

For those about to rock at AC/DC in Pittsburgh, we salute you. These rock legends from England fill up Acrisure Stadium with loud sounds, lots of lights, and plenty of pyrotechnics. You’ll also get to see The Pretty Reckless whose frontwoman you may recognize as Cindy Lou Who from the live action film How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Shakey Graves 

Roxian Theatre, May 8

A bit of blues, folk, country, and rock all blend together in Shakey Graves’ music and now you can hear it live. His discography starts in 2012 so who knows what songs you’ll hear at this concert. Maybe he’ll play his new songs off his album Movie of the Week or the solemnly heard EP, Donor Blues

Larry Fleet 

Stage AE, May 9

Country singer-songwriter Larry Fleet has only been around since 2018 but he’s quickly growing. Morgan Wallen even sings on Fleet’s song Where I Find God, which is now one of his most popular tracks. Hear this hit and so much more after his openers Everette. 

G-Eazy

Roxian Theatre, May 13

One of the big names of the hip-hop scene in the late 2000s, G-Eazy, gets his turn in the Steel City. Name just about any pop star from this time and we’re sure G-Eazy worked with them in one way or another. This time he’ll be amping up his Helium tour with his new single Fight & Fuck

Pearl Jam 

PPG Paints Arena, May 16 and 18

Back in Pittsburgh for the first time since 2013, Pearl Jam is coming to the city for two nights. Their Dark Matter tour at PPG Paints Arena includes all-female rock band Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers as an opener. You won’t want to miss this epic performance from this widely popular 90’s grunge band.

Bronfman Plays Beethoven 

Heinz Hall, May 16-18

Pianist Yefim Bronfman returns to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra to perform one of his favorite Beethoven pieces, Piano Concerto No. 5, Emperor. Besides this selection, the orchestra will also be premiering A Mad Tea-Party from Alice in Wonderland as well as Cinderella, Suite No. 1.

Alex Warren 

Roxian Theatre, May 17

You may not recognize Alex Warren’s name but you’ll know his song that is trending all over social media, Ordinary. Starting as an influence in the Hype House, his other song Yard Sale took him beyond people’s social feed. Hear the song in-person and possibly get to star in one of his mid-concert TikTok videos.

Mayday Parade 

Stage AE, May 20

We had a dream last night we drove out to see Mayday Parade at Stage AE. That’s right, the pop-punk/emo creators of songs like Jamie All Over, Miserable At Best, and Jersey. They’re even bringing along their friends Microwave, Grayscale (who are from Pennsylvania), and Like Roses.

Barry Manilow

PPG Paints Arena, May 23

Still have yet to see power ballad king Barry Manilow in concert? Here’s your last chance with his final show in Pittsburgh at PPG Paints Arena before retirement. We know we’re sure ready to get down at the Copa, Copacabana

Pierce the Veil

Star Lake Pavilion, May 25

Taylor Swift had her Eras Tour, now it’s time for Pierce the Veil to have their own. The I Can’t Hear You Tour takes fans through the band’s five studio albums, covering from King For A Day to Pass The Nirvana. You’ll even see rock bands Sleeping With Sirens and Daisy Grenade in the same show. 

Post Malone 

PNC Park, May 29

By this point, everyone knows and loves Posty. It’s easy to see why when you look at how interactive and caring his concerts are. With this tour taking place at PNC Park, there’s no telling what stunts and productions he’ll pull. Sending Congratulations to all who will experience this memorable show.

Brahms’ Fourth Symphony 

Heinz Hall, May 30-June 1

This last symphony by Brahms is one of the strongest pieces of the Romantic era. Not only will you hear the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra give their own voice to this piece, you’ll also hear from violinist Nemanja Radulović in Aram Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto. Plus, the orchestra premieres a selection from Sean Shepherd, Sprout.  

George Strait 

Acrisure Stadium, May 31

This show is a big one for country music fans. Not only is George Strait performing but Chris Stapleton and Parker McCollum are joining him as well. Just imagine a whole stadium full of people singing Amarillo By Morning together up to the Pittsburgh sky.
