About the Opera:
A world‑premiere contemporary opera by composer Laura Kaminsky (As One) with libretto by Emmy nominee Crystal Manich. Set in present‑day America, Time to Act follows high school students preparing a production of Antigone when a new student’s secret—triggered by a school safety drill—reveals profound questions about responsibility, self‑forgiveness, and healing. The work explores how the arts can unite and empower those affected by trauma, giving voice to a generation impacted by school violence.
Run Time: 90 minutes (one act, no intermission) | Sung in English with supertitles
Content Warning: Contains a simulated safety drill and themes related to school shootings, violence, and PTSD.
