Feste’s Fiesta

Pittsburgh Shakespeare in the Parks is celebrating 20 years of free public performances in the best way possible – by stuffing their faces. Join the cast and crew of the Twelfth Night on October 1 at Mad Mex in Shadyside for Feste’s Fiesta, a Mad Mex Fundraiser Dinner. Feste is the singing court jester in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, and his tuneful spirit guides the festivities. A ticket to the make-your-own fajita extravaganza also includes Mad Mex chips, wings, a dessert table, and, of course, a margarita. Best of all? All ticket sales (minus the tip) go directly to helping the theater group keep their performances free.

Mangia Mangia

This isn’t your grandpa’s spaghetti dinner fundraiser. On October 5, Bunker Projects’ Mangia Mangia is serving up an old-school, cafeteria-style feast with an artsy spin at Wilkins School Community Center in Swissvale. Support the arts nonprofit’s world-class exhibitions, live/work residency program, and digital journal, The Bunker Review, with a ticket to this “flavorful fundraising feast,” featuring Millie’s, Spak Bros, Dancing Gnome, Third Space Bakery, and more. Did we mention they’ll also have a Pittsburgh cookie table?

15th Anniversary – A (not so) Quiet Evening with Beth

Described as “dinner with a little dance on the side,” A (not so) Quiet Evening with Beth invites guests to celebrate 15 years of Corningworks’ dance theater productions on October 19 with a buffet dinner, followed by an exclusive performance by Artistic Director Beth Corning. Come to the Carnegie Stage for a selection of offerings from some of Pittsburgh’s top chefs including Jamika Borges and Dianne DeStefano of Lillith, Andrew Garbarino of Garbarino’s, Nikki Heckman of Bistro to Go, Roger Levine of the Culinary Institute, and more. Stay for Corning’s three solos drawn from the 24 original incredible full-length evening works she’s created over the past decade.

JustART: Transformative Voices of Advocacy

In the Pittsburgh region, about 1 in 8 of our neighbors are hungry, according to local nonprofit Just Harvest. Support their nonprofit’s mission to end hunger in Allegheny County with a ticket to JustArt: Transformative Voices of Advocacy at the Irma Freeman Center for the Imagination in Bloomfield on October 24. The gallery show and fundraiser showcases creative works that “confront, critique, and transform conversations around social justice.” Attendees will also have the chance to meet and greet the participating artists, while enjoying cocktails and small bites.
