Welcome to the first full week of the New Year! Pittsburgh is kicking off January with a diverse lineup of events. Each of these is designed to refresh your mind, body, and spirit after the holiday rush. Think about classes that guide you toward a healthier lifestyle, immersing yourself in art and music, or simply finding time to spend with those closest to you. These are all great ways to ensure 2026 is off to a great start. They also give you an opportunity to try something new this year.
Pittsburgh Events Happening January 5-11

Forest Bathing Experience
January 6, The Frick Pittsburgh
Reconnect with nature and start the New Year out on the right foot. Certified practitioners from the Frick Environmental Center will lead a slow, restorative 90-minute walk on the museum’s scenic grounds, inspired by Scandinavian traditions of mindful engagement with the natural world.

Mocktail Class
January 8, The PA Market
Kick off the new year with a spirited—or spirit-free—celebration. Learn to shake, muddle, and mix gorgeous zero-proof drinks that are every bit as vibrant and delicious as their classic counterparts. For guests who prefer a traditional cocktail, any mocktail can be transformed with an optional spirit addition for an extra charge.

Music for Exhibitions: Art and Music of Scandinavia
January 9, The Frick Art Museum
Musicians from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra help bring The Scandinavian Home to life. Hear them perform a program of Scandinavian chamber music by composers such as Grieg and Sibelius that lead you through the exhibit. The evening includes after-hours gallery access, a post-concert meet-and-greet, as well as light refreshments.

Free Yoga at the National Aviary
January 10, National Aviary
Become one with the animals of the National Aviary with a bird-themed yoga flow. This special session brings the popular Yoga in the Park series to the light-filled Garden Room. Be greeted by an exclusive ambassador bird and enjoy a mindful practice all inspired by the grace and freedom of the birds that soar the sky above us.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince™ in Concert
January 10-11, Heinz Hall
A truly magical Hogwarts experience for kids and adults alike. Relive the sixth year of the wizarding world in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince™. Watch the film in high definition on the big screen set up behind the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra performing Nicholas Hooper’s iconic score live. Feel like you’re right alongside Harry, Ron, and Hermione too.
