Texture Contemporary Ballet continues its 15th anniversary season with In This Moment, a program of three world premieres. The evening features the long-awaited revival of The Art of Conversation by Pittsburgh choreographer *Shana Simmons. Originally planned for 2020, the work was postponed by the pandemic. Now, its themes of communication and compassion feel more relevant than ever.

In addition, the show highlights Portraits by resident choreographer Madeline Kendall Schreiber, which reflects on memory and the passage of time. It also includes Falling In/Out by artistic director Alan Obuzor, a moving exploration of human connection and relationships. Together, these works create an evening that blends energy, emotion, and thoughtful storytelling.

Audiences will also find special opportunities to connect. On Saturday, September 20 at 4 p.m., Texture presents a Children’s Performance with excerpts from the program and interactive creative movement. Furthermore, following the evening shows on Friday and Saturday, the artists will host post-show discussions where audience members can share questions and insights.
