Standing Drama: Chocolate-Cherry Gin Cocktail

Chocolate bitters perfectly balance this Chocolate-Cherry Cocktail made with Lucky Sign London Dry Gin, sour cherries, ginger, lime, and super saline. The ginger provides a light heat to the Standing Drama that compliments the sweet and tangy cherry. Super saline is Scratch & Co’s secret ingredient though as it subtly blends out the bold flavors while producing a smooth mouthfeel.

What is Super Saline in This Chocolate-Cherry Gin Cocktail?

Bartenders use super saline, a highly concentrated salt solution, to enhance and sharpen the flavors of cocktails without making the drink taste salty. The drops acts as a seasoning tool behind the bar, similar to how chefs use salt in cooking. Just a few drops can brighten citrus, round out sweetness, and amplify savory notes. It’s a way for bartenders to fine-tune flavor profiles without altering the texture or dilution of the cocktail.
